ONGOING PROJECT
Brief Description:
After successfully implementing the “Emergency Market-Based Food & Non Food Item (NFI) Support Project” from May 2019 to February 2020, Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and its local partners – Social Welfare/Caritas and Justice & Peace Commissions of Catholic Archdiocese of Bamenda have received a Joint Award from the United State Agency for International Development (USAID), Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA), and Food for Peace (FFP) to respond to the immediate food and non-food needs of 27,000 individuals in 4,375 affected households in Mezam Division.
This project is based on priority needs of the affected population, Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP) Priorities for 2020, and learning from the 2019 response, and is aligned with OFDA & FFP mandates to save lives, reduce hunger, and alleviate human suffering.
It will be implemented from the 20 March 2020 to 19 March 2021, targeting newly displaced, returned, and vulnerable host community households in Bamenda I, Bamenda II, Bamenda III and Santa municipalities.
Goal:
Alleviate sufferings & improve food security of displaced & host households in Mezam Division and surrounding areas through improved access to sufficient nutritious food & essential household items.
