This training, organized by St. Jacqueline Atabong under the Victim Offender Prison Care Support (VOPS), a program of the Sisters of St. Therese of the Child Jesus, Douala took place from the 20th – 21st November 2014.
The training had as participants, staff of the Justice and Peace Commission (JPC), some elected Deanery and Archdiocesan JPC members, members of the Archdiocesan Prison Chaplaincy Team, and some members of groups also working in prisons. It had as objective to broaden the knowledge of participants on the Prison Apostolate so as to enable them take necessary measures to intensify their efforts in improving on life in prisons. Participants in this training which was punctuated with testimonies and group works were drilled on Prison Pastoral Care. This initiative therefore came to strengthen the work of the Justice and Peace Commission in prisons in the Archdiocese of Bamenda under the ongoing project “Promoting and Enforcing the Respect of the Rights of Inmates in Prisons in the Ecclesiastical Province of Bamenda”
