The Justice and Peace Commission paid two Working Visits to St. Mary’s Main Station Balikumbat, Holy Family Mission Station Bafanji, and St. Paul’s Mission Station, Bamukumbit in the Balikumbat Parish on the 8th and 22nd of February 2015 with the aim of ensuring organizational effectiveness and efficiency, a result area in its new Strategic Plan 2015 – 2020.
As a move to realize this result, the commission decided to pay working visits to the 40 Parishes of the Archdiocese with the objective of strengthening the commission at this level of the pastoral structure.
In Masses that took place in Mission Stations in Balikumbat Parish on the 08th of February, the Parish Priest, Fr. Jean Baptiste Nsimi Bekoa gave the opportunity to the Coordinator of the Service, Laura Anyola Tufon during the homilies to inform Christians of the work of the Justice and Peace Commission. At the end of the masses, some of the Christians volunteered to join the Commission. Then, on the 22nd of February, some Christians who volunteered to join the commission were trained on the method of work of the Commission; See, Judge, Act and Review. These working visits ended with the creation of Justice and Peace Commissions in these Mission Stations, with Chairpersons and Secretaries of the Commission elected per Mission Station in accordance with the Bamenda Ecclesiastical Provincial Pastoral Plan.
